Promoting Indonesian Coffee in Houston

Indonesia continue to promote and market their coffee globally. One of the efforts is by joining the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) 23rd Annual Exposition and Symposion in Houston, United States on April 28 until May 1, 2011. This event is one of the biggest events in coffee industry in the United States. Participants come from dozenz of coffee association and 700 companies from various sectors of the coffee industri supporters. SCAA was also participated by thousands of coffee industry professionals from 40 countries worldwide.


Indonesia were represented by the Association of Indonesian Coffee Exporters (AEKI) and Association of Speciality Coffee (AKSI) and supported by the Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia, Consulate General in Houston, Indonesian Embassy in Washington, Consulate General in Chicago and Los Angeles. Indonesian delegation held meetings and agreed on the transaction of exporting coffee the United States. The United States is the world's largest market of coffee products. Until the second day, 140 buyers have agreed to import coffee from Indonesia. Increasing Indonesian coffee exports value will help the coffee farmers and workers as well as their families, and provides positive impacts to support the coffee industry.
